Vintage Mid-Century Modern / Postmodernist Karl Springer Coffee Table

Born in 1931, German New York–based designer Karl Springer brought a chic, high-fashion sensibility to his furnishings. Springer became known for pieces finished in rich and striking materials that ranged from exotic hides and skins to lacquer and chromed metal. In the 1960s and 70s, Karl Springer pieces were featured in the homes of many of New York’s glamor set, including, famously Jackie Kennedy Onassis, after whom the Springer Onassis chairs were named. 

This item is vintage (estimated 1970s) and in good, used condition. There is some wear, scuffs on the base as well as the glass but it is overall a beautiful piece emblematic of the Karl Springer aesthetic.
